PC Problems with video card and Resident Evil

Hello, my english is bad but i try to explain my problem the best i can.

I have an AMD K6-2 Machine with an old 4 Mb video card (with 3D acceleration) and Resident Evil works fine but I have installed it on a Celeron 700 Mhz with a SIS630 AGP on-board card with 16 Mb and it doens't work. The game only works on Windows 9x systems or Windows XP SP2 so i installed it in a Windows 98SE system with the correct drivers for the hardware from the official PCCHIPS web page:

- Mother m756LMRE-H (ATX)
- Celeron of 700 Mhz on Socket 370
- 80 Mb of DIMM memory
- SIS 630 AGP with 16 mb (on-board)
- SIS 7018 sound hardware (on-board)

The game shows a error message "Failed to initialize the Graphic Hardware Device.(3)" the game has a configuration program for selecting differents video cards models, the old k6-2 machine has a intel card that don't appear on the list but it worked fine with "Creative 3D Blaster" selected, but the other machine i selected all the video cards from the list and it doens't work.

Have you tried different video card drivers. Also check the game forum as someone there may have experienced the same problem and has a fix for it!

i have found and installed some different drivers, the official drivers from sis homepage detects only 3.0 mb and doens't allow 3D acceleration (I have dicovered that this is a BIOS problem) and other driver i have downloaded from driverguide.com has the same problem of the one that i have downloaded from PCCHIPS.

And i don't have seen others with a problem like this with that game (in this and in other forums) maybe the game needs a patch or something for making it compatible with my video hardware
I've found a pacth for voodoo 2 cards but not for my video hardware.

Well. sometimes you just have to make a decision as to use the computer and play games designed for that system or upgrade it to work with other games or buy a new computer that is capable of playing the game you wish to play. It is called progression. It is similar to evolution where the fitest survive and move on and the weak die out.

Does your game require DirectX?
Check or update DirectX and that your video card supports it if it is required.

Download details: DirectX 8.1 Runtime for Windows 98 and Me

I have the last version of directx for windows 98 SE and the video hardware are supported by directx drivers (I have played "carmageddon TDR 2000" and "Star Trek: Star Fleet Command Gold Edition" with direct 3D without problems)
