Default MS-DOS Problems

I have 3 problems which may or may not be related. First off I am using win98SE. I have been having problems in the past due to constant cleaning of hard drive stuff to keep space.

1 - I cannot use Real Mode MSDOS. All I get is blinking cursor.
2 - I cannot usr MSDOS in program files. When I click on it screen flashes amd then back to Desktop.
3 - When I shut off PC I get Windows is shutting down but nothing after that.

Any help would be greatly aporeciated. Thanks.

Tom

What steps have you followed to resolve the issue yourself?

Did you try reinstalling the software to clean up the registry?

unless you are modifying your DOS files, organizing your hdd should not be a problem.
be sure you are launching the command.com launcher, and not some random batch file, that would explain the flash of a dos window.
