first question.. is IT users still using dos to troubleshoot computers??? second question.. Im new to ms-dos, and needing to know if IT users still use dos to fix related computer problems, can someone tell me how to use it and understand how to use it in troubleshooting please, thanks!!

ok, dos is still used in the odd case, because of it's independence and simplicity, but as far as correcting a system i would honestly suggest live linux, or even live XP for such purposes, remember that Vista will not be using DOS at all... or atleast that's the claim, since XP was not supposed to have any DOS connections either, but yet... there they are.
To learn the basics of what DOS can do, you could pick up Dos for dummies, read it when i was about 9 and it's been invaluable when i'm forced back to DOS.

what exactly are you planning to do in dos? there are a large number of aps that run in 16-bit mode (for dos) which can make life much easier.
