Can you please provide us more info about your PC

What is operating system, and since when did this happen ex: while updating or installing any software etc...

Also what is your driver version (C-Media latest drivers are buggy)

I had the same problem try this download. There are two different links you need one for ac-media97 and one for realtek.

C-Media AC97 Codec Audio Rack 2.11 Driver Download

Realtek AC'97 WDM Driver (Windows 98/Me/2000/XP/2003) - Free Software Downloads and Software Reviews - Download.com

See if those work. If they arent links copy and paste them in the window. You will need to install the first and then the second. Let me know if they work, if not I will see if I can zip my drivers and send them to you.

Did you try going to sounds and media in Control Panel?
Did you try going into system drivers in control panel?

Did you install the drivers from the CD that came with your mobo, or from some other source?

Did you have sound immidiatly after the SP2 install?

I would go here to get the drivers required for your soundcard.

Let us know how you get on.
