Default How do I play movies onto my tv from the computer?

My computer came with TV OUT... I have no idea how to use it... I'd love to be able to play video files and movies on the computer to see on the tv... could somebody help me with this?

Hi Ian,

Do you have Windows XP media center and would like to watch video on both computer monitor and your tv.

Or do you have a tv tuner card like WinTV-PVR-350 from which you would like to connect it to your TV

Please clarify.

You should need a TV out cable in order to make the TV connect to the comp or vice-versa. And then you need some sort of software like Windows Media Centre. Then you should have a TV-Tuner card also in order to be able to watch TV on ur com. I hope this helps u. Good luck.

Yes I have windows XP, and media center installed. The computer came with a black cord bout 6 ft long... I was told this was an S-video cable... I'm guessing that's the cable to plug into the tv.... so I checked and it fits the connection beside the monitor and fits in the tv... what do I do next?

Then i guess it should work, since you have connected it properly and in the right spot. If not then you will need to configue the media centre to work. I personally dont have media centre, so i'm not sure how it's done. Sorry man. If you give a bit more details, then i might be able to help u.

If you have that cable connected, and you are using a nVidia videocard, you should use nview to clone the video output so you can see on your TV.
