How to Add Recycle Bin Icon To Windows 7 Taskbar

Like many other tweaks this one can also be useful or useless to you. But take my word, adding recycle bin to the taskbar of your desktop powered by Windows 7 will surely reduce some of your work. Below are the steps which will help you to add recycle bin to Windows 7 taskbar:

Step 1: Right click on the desktop and click on “Create New Shortcut” button

Step 2: It will now ask you to type the path, below is the path which is to be used- “ %SystemRoot%\explorer.exe shell:RecycleBinFolder “

Step 3: Now click on the NEXT button and enter the name that you want to give to the created shortcut.

Step 4: For the simplicity, use RECYCLE BIN as the name and then click on FINISH button

Step 5: Now the next task is to change the shortcut, so right click on that particular shortcut and click on PROPERTIES button.

Step 6: Here, click on CHANGE ICON button that is visible at center bottom.

Step 7: Now, enter “%SystemRoot%\system32\imageres.dll“ in the field provided for icon file and choose the Recycle Bin Icon.

Step 8: Now click on the OK button and drag that shortcut on to the taskbar.

That is it, you can now find the Recycle Bin icon on the taskbar of your Windows 7 powered desktop.
