Default Help, not sure where this goes.


Hey im not sure what forum i should put this in but here we go, i have an issue with my comp and for the life of me i cant figure it out, i just formatted and reinstalled xp pro, nothing else was installed and my keyboard of any letter number key would not type, although if i start in safe mode it works, whats with that? im also wondering if any of you guys know about any good formatting programs and memory integrity test programs and memory wipers? any help would be much appreciated. cheers

Sounds like for your keyboard you have a driver or conflicting hardware issue. Is this a laptop? They sometimes need a driver from the mfg.

It would help also if the OP stated what his specs are and whether his keyboard is USB or PS2.

After a reformat and re-installation of the operating system the motherboard drivers must be installed....by going into safe mode windows loads a generic driver to allow the use of keyboard/mouse so that the other drivers are not started and can be removed or repaired while in safe mode.

Did your computer come with a driver disk? If so you need to install that.
