Yahoo format and reinstallation of xp in dual OS with vista

I am having both XP and vista in c and d drive respectively. due to some problem with xp i need to format and reinstal it. since m told its kind of tricky thing to do, as it would lead to loss of vista, which i dont want to do. anything by which i can do that.

or is it possible to just repair the XP without uninstalling it and how to do that as the bootable cd is not reading at the time of start up with normal window of "which of the os to load" asking

Maybe if you told us what was the cause of the problems to begin with, you might be able to by pass the reformat and reinstallation issues!

That sounds more like spyware/malware issues. Have you tried cleaning your system using Ccleaner. ATFcleaner, and your running a full anti-virus scan.

well the problem with the dual booting that you all ready have installed is that you just can't go in there and reformat and reinstall without having to redo the MBR as well. And with no CD rom or floppy to work with....well!

In order to do what you want you will have to go through the whole process again.
