Default flash player problems.

Hello everyone 1st time user, Thank you for taking time to read my Question.
I am using windows xp Pro sp/2 I can not get flash player to work on my computer. I have done all the possible options given in the adobe troubleshooting site but images will not appear. The player itself is shown to be installed but I cannot get a video no matter what I do. I am using Internet Explorer 6 and cannot upgrade to 7 because it seems I do not have a genuine copy of xp. The microsoft people say it is because it was installed by a distributer and I do not have the correct numbers to give them because the hard drive came from another computer than the one it is in so the casing does not have any numbers for it, If that makes sense to anybody. If someone has an option other than me having to pay another $150 for another genuine copy from microsoft(who I feel is making enough off of everything they sell the first time anyways)(and I would have to reinstall everything) I would be so very indebted. Thank you for you time and have a great day.

Default flash player

I don't have any picture at all just a white box with flash content square in upper left corner and that is it. Even after a fresh install when it says when you see the completetion movie flash player is loaded, their is none. I'm sorry if my responding is taking some time but I have gotten hit with some stupid viruses. Mostly fixit software telling me my system is infected and I need to fix it by downloading their program. " Ultimate Defender" is the name "pcprotect" part of product. It has somehow loaded into my system and now matter what I can not delete it, and when I do it just comes back, so I'm working on that now,. Stupid windows securty alerts.

Default Removing Ultimate Defender

To remove 'Ultimate Defender' go to this link and scroll down to the manual removal instructions: Ultimate Defender :: Ultimate Defender Removal Instructions.

When you've finished restart your PC in safe mode and run any anti-virus/spyware software you have and carry out a full scan.

As far as your flash player goes, can I ask what browser you are using, and are you allowing flash to run with your browser through its' security settings?

Regards

Martin

Default re: mhookem

Thanks for responding. I use xp pro. browser ie6.0. I cannot upgrade to 7 because I don't have a genuine copy, or so it says when I try to upgrade, and my hard drive came in another case so I do not have the correct number to upgrade with. I have checked and tripled checked my sucurity settings and they are to adobe specs. As far as the ultimate defender I also read to delete from programs and the funny thing is that I never downloaded it and I do not have it in my files, at least anywhere I can find. Even tried a search for it, so it must be under something else. It also shows as pcprotect and I have scanned for that and removed it but everytime I boot up or use my browser they just reappear. I also have tried to do a restore to a previous time but that doesn't work either. I have tried to load into safe mode but when I do I get the dreaded blue screen (lol) and have to reboot. I have even disabled my caching through bios, I can't boot that way either it stops during loodup and I have to reboot again. When I start in normal mode with my caching disabled I run so slow that I can't accomplish nothing.
