Default Computer speed


I have system with pentium 3 with .8 processor, 20gb hardisk , 256 RAM and windows xp installed , can anybody told me how to increase computer speed by settings in xp.

You will not get any noticable amount of speed out of that computer. You could try putting more ram in that may help to a certain extent.

You would be better off installing Win 98 or 2000 on it...

Wombat is right. Windows xp requires a lot more ram to operate at its full potential. At the least 512 but preferably 1 gig would be better. Once the hardware issues are taken care of then there are a few tricks to help speed it along. But without the extra memory ....all software tricks will just not make any noticeable differences.
