Thumbs up CD/DVD Question

Hey guys, i was just wondering how i will be able to copy a file from a CD/DVD which is read-only. I really badly need that file, and i by mistake put it as read-only, so can anybody plz tell me how to change it or copy it. The disc is not re-writable and i have no other copy of it. Thanks for any feedback.

Can you please explain further what are you try to copy?

Are you trying to copy a file on to CD-R?
or
Trying to copy a file from CD to your hard disk?

if the file is a data cd, and you have access to the file, it can be copied the same as any other file. When a file is burned to a cd, it is given the read-only attribute, but this can be removed once the copy is on your computer, by right clicking, select properties and clearing the box marked read-only.
If you are talking about a file such as a .VOB which are encoded carefully, you will need a program such as dvd-cloner (not free) to extract it, I have had great success with this program, and have backed up many files thanks to this little program.
If this is not what you were looking for, post again/edit your post to be more specific.

It is a VCD file(movie). I had made it, but it is read-only, so i cannot copy it to my hard drive. Can anybody tell me how to do it? I am willing to buy anything.

Ok, the problem is not actually that the file is read-only.
Being read-only enforces issues of modification (and sometimes deletion), but not copying. A VCD is a different problem like VOB files or audio files on CDs, these files are not actually visible, what you see appears to be the file, but is merely a link to the actual file.
To extract such files you need a special program that can find the location of the hidden data which can be found here
