Default Can't Go Beyond The Welcome Screen When I Bootup

Please help. I can't access certain computers. What happens is that when I boot up it welcomes me and shows the logon screen. when I click on the user account so that I can either just enter or type a password nothing happens. It does not show the password field and all it shows is loadind your personal details and then it says saving personal details and thats it, It just stays on the logon screen so I am locked out of the computer. Please help. I am desperate.

Default Welcome Screen

Hi there

Reboot computer , press F8 and hold it until a dos menu appears, hi-light safemode and press enter,

wait a while and the welcome screen should appear, try and logon and see if it solves the problem. If yes, take note of the processes that are running, check current programs installed and remove any unwanted programs and perform disk defragmenter program on drive C:

if you can logon again, please let me know on futher detail

regards

Roger.

Hi Roger,

Thanx but I had already tried that and it did not work. I eventually had to reinstall windows which was a bit trcky if I didn't want to lose any data. I just wish there could be an easier way out there. Thanx a lot though for your effort.
