Default Anyone use ZoneAlarm?

I was thinking about installing ZoneAlarm and was wondering if somebody could give me some feedback on it. Does it work very well? I've used a few firewall programs before, how does it compare to the others?

Hi Zcon,

I have been using ZoneAlarm, for past 4 years, it is wonderful software and I think its a must have essential utility for all pc's.

I have previously used Sygate Personal Firewall another good firewall, but now it has been taken over by Symantec and they no longer provide the free version.

I agree with Sami on this one.
Zone alarm is a good firewall dispite the fact its a free one!
I personally use Sygate Personal Firewall Pro, but only because I have ALWAYS used it and I don't mind paying a little for good, quality software, but if its a free firewall you are looking for then ZA is a good thing to use

I would recommend Zone Alarm because i have been using it for now like more than 2 years now, and it has never let me down. It is way better than most other paid / free versions. I would suggest that you get it as soon as possible. And if you are willing to spend money on it, then buy the complete suite, which is the best, it's got everything a comp needs.

Wow. 8 years. That's a long time. Anyways, do u have the Zone Alarm Pro or the complete suite, which has the antivirus in it also? I prefer the complete suite.

I've been using Zone Alarm for a while now (only about 2 years or so on the current PC I'm using) as well, the main thing I like about Zone Alarm (the free version too) is that it can also be used for other things such as finding out which program is trying to dial-up to the internet (ZA is so good that it reports that as well...), and I believe many have been helped by Zone alarm in those ways. And it also does what it was designed to do.

I would say that you should give it a try, chances are that you won't be dissapointed.

Risherz Zone Alarm is mainly a firewall software, so it is meant to tell you which program is trying to access, and whether or not it should be allowed or blocked.

Yes ChatMod#1 I realize that Zone Alarm is supposed to tell you that, but other Firewall aren't generally good (well they might tell you this but, I find they reportother unnecessary things as well...) as Zone Alarm in finding this out (that's what I meant in the post above)...
