Which anti-virus do you use?

Personally, I use symantecs. It takes care of most of the trouble. If it doesn't then I have to use Hijack, but I hate doing manual work for that.

I only check it now and then every 3 months, I usually don't get viruses unless I go to some LAN parties with kids full of viruses in their comps. Some dodgy downloads that I have to do for cracks gets me in trouble too sometimes.

NOD32. Never had a virus since I really started to get into computers.

atm my norton antivirus has expired and i am using nod32. It is not that good as norton antivirus was, that is why i plan on buying another license for it. I hope the price goes down on it :).

I'm using McAfee Antivirus, coupled with McAfee Personal Firewall, and so far I've been protected from viruses and I've never had any major virus problems since installing it.

Yep, I also use McAfee Antivirus along with Personal Firewall. I have only had one virus appear...Well, mcafee detected a worm, but deleted it quickly and my pc runs fine now :) Got it free with comcast ;)

bongo 01-18-2006 01:48 PM

first norton then after renewal to avast..maybe to macfree or somth..

ChatMod#1 01-23-2006 01:40 AM

I use Norton Antivirus, but it's no good.

I used McAfee Antivirus since dec 2004.

I use Norton. But now they are charging a renewal after a 60 day trial. :( I remember when they didn't charge a renewal fee. But I put Mcafee antivirius. I always found them to be reliable.

Mark Phillips 02-17-2006 08:06 PM

Lol. I use free stuff also. I use Norton , but i am planning to use AVG.

outofbreath 03-28-2006 09:33 AM

McAffee is decent (and has a great reputation from past).

You do have two other free choices in AVG and Avast. Both offer regular updates and do a great job in my experience.

a_brewsy 03-29-2006 12:12 PM

i use avg and it automatically updates every day so if sumfings getting through then its rubbish but i dont fink so

javester 03-29-2006 05:00 PM

AVG Anti-virus is the best in my book. And the best part is that its FREE forever and forever unlike the timerwares from Symantec, McAfee, etc. that expire after a few months.

ChatMod#1 03-30-2006 01:14 AM

I had Norton and whenever i scanned my comp with it no virus, then i thought that i'd try AVG Pro 7(latest one) and there are like 15 viruses. For sure AVG is better than Norton.

Mikeg 03-30-2006 01:57 AM

The reality is, their are several good Antivirus products out there and the discussion of which one is better is becoming narrowly defined. As new versions come out most inevitable get better at detecting Viruses. The most important thing is that you keep it updated with the latest Viruses definitions and avoid known pitfalls that will expose you to a Virus.

ChatMod#1 03-30-2006 02:37 AM

I agree. But i did have my Norton up-to-date and the latest one.

Dubh Ghall 04-02-2006 11:06 AM

I use AVG, the full version. Never yet had a virus.

Scans my e-mail, the lot.

The only thing I can fault it on, is that it keeps insisting that any prog, in my software storage folder, that goes on line, like my News Reader, or Neo Trace, has got a Trojan.

...And I would rather it did that, than mistake something dangerous, for a beguine routine

Updates are automatic, and almost daily.

A good prog

Paid Version and Free One.........

I use the Pro Version Of Zone Alarm, and it is remarkable, I have not had one false positive ( Like alot of others will throw at you ). And if you would like a killer free one, Avast Antivirus is the BEST of all Freebies... Devildog :icon_twisted:

I use mcafee mostly because it came free with comcast. 2 months, so far, so good.
