Proxies, and Remailers.

Proxies, and Remailers, can be very useful tools in the surfer's security kit.

I use a proxy prog called Hide IP, which auto runs at boot up, and puts me behind a proxy server, which prevents any auto traces, finding their way back to me.

I also use this:

http://anonymouse.org/

Which is quite good for surfing, but does not support large downloads.

Yes proxies are really good for anonymous browsing around the net especially for people who are really worried about their privacy. If I were to use one I would probably use tor, it's really easy to set up. Except the only problem is that it slows down the speed (a lot) from all the re-routing that it does. Its good for privacy but bad for downloads, but it's almost impossible to trace.

Proxies are good too, but they are just annoying, for example anonymouse give you ads every time you load a page, now my ad blocker does block it all the time, but after a while it just gets annoying if you plan to use it for a long while. Here's a great list of proxies (and other alternatives) but all are more or less the same IMO.

Oh well, I really don't care, because I really don't need any proxies and so on, but if I really need some encryption while using wi-fi and so on (for those top secret projects that I work on :) )and so on, I'll probably get something like iPig (heh, interesting name) or similar services.
