hi BrahmSwaroop,

i suggest you perform these steps:
  1. Open My Computer
  2. Right click on Drive C, click Properties
  3. On the General tab, click Disk Cleanup
  4. Allow the Disk Cleanup process to finish, it might take at least 30minutes to an hour (depending on how large is your drive, and how long it has been since your last disk cleanup)
  5. Right click again on Drive C, click Properties
  6. Click on the Tools tab, click Defragment now
  7. Allow the defragment process to complete. This will also take some time depending on the size of your drive and how long it has been since your last defragment.

let us know if doing a disk cleanup and defragment helps :)
we can do more advanced troubleshooting to further speedup and optimize your windows system ;)

I would suggest that you monitor computer activity through the task manager. You cannot solely charge the virus for slowing your computer down as it can be caused by other programs running on your cpu.

You can first check which programs are currently running and take notice of how big their requirements are.

If you have not noticed any suspicious applications, then maybe you are just running out of memory from all the things you are using.

go to run type a command msconfig then click on startup. there can be many things on startup. Remove unwanted things.

How much disk space do you have on the drive that holds your operating system?
Your drive needs space when carrying out certain operations.
For example, you might try copying and pasting a relatively large file, but if you only have a small amount of space left to carryout this operation it will take longer as it uses not only the space you have left, but also the space it needs to write the new data to.

Which anti virus software did you use?

Also, try a disk clean up and defrag as the other members have suggested and run a disk check the next time you boot up your pc and check for drive errors.
