Today in school i had a look at the heaps of features Vista offers, and i was so happy that it was released, and so i can't wait for me to get a hold of it, and install it.

Vista is amazing visually, i'm not sure i like all the changes, but it's probably just my getting used to XP, lol. I find some of the changes a GREAT improvment, some of the menu styles i find resemble that of knoppix, and the new IE7 release is definatly a lot better (a FF ripoff, but who says that's a bad thing?)
At first i liked being warned about all the dll and exe files running on my system.. then it got to be rather annoying.. so i made sure that never saw the light of day again.
Overall XP was a great improvment to 2000/98, i'm hoping that Vista will impress me even more as a i use it.
*Kinda sad that the startup music is the same...

Shield XP Pro vs. Win2000

I have been a A+ Tech for some years now, I have used both, and I have troubleshooted both for clients in the past. I use WinXP Pro SP2. It has alot more features than Win2000. Win2000 is and was used almost strictly for WorkGroups ( or at least that is what MS intentions for it.) and XP Pro's intentions from MS was for Small Businesses. Side by Side I would say both have their ups and downs, most will be the users preferences of the OS. Go ahead and upgrade, it is worth it, and XP is a pretty good OS, aside of all the problems you hear people having with it. "As far as the comment in someone's previous post that Vista will replace XP as the leader", we will have to wait and see. I am not one to jump on a OS as soon as it becomes available, I grab and use it when I AM READY TOO.
Good Luck Either Way, Devildog
