Windows Vista: Tips and Tricks on Explorer.exe
 
The following are lists of tips and tricks inside Windows Vista Explorer.exe:

1. If you cannot find the Show Hidden Files options within the Folder Options, you may try this particular tweaks.
• Access the Windows Vista start menu bar and press Enter. Find the following registry entries: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ SOFTWARE\ Microsoft\ Windows\ CurrentVersion\ Explorer\ Advanced\ Folder\ Hidden
• Within the RHS Pane, right click into the Type and to Modify. Then alter the Value Data into “group”, and press OK then Exit.
2. To trim down the thick Explorer’s boarder in Vista:
• You may right click anywhere on Desktop and access Personalize. Access the Windows Vista’s Color and Appearance.
• Choose the Properties within the Open Classic Appearance. Inside the window, pick the Advanced. A dialog box will again, within this box, choose the Border Padding located within the Item menu.
• Change the size from 4 to 1. Enter and Exit.
3. Taskbar display when Win key is pressed:
• Taskbar appear automatically below the screen when you move the cursor within that section.
• To let the Taskbar appear when you only want to, you may try to download this particular utility; PushToShow.
• This utility does not require installation.
4. The “Class Not Registered” error from Windows Explorer:
• If you get this message upon windows Explorer start-up, you may be required to register again the ExplorerFrame.dll.
• From Start Menu, select Run. Within this Run window, type regsvr32 ExplorerFrame.dll
• Press Enter.
5. Not working links on Windows Vista Start Menu:
• If you have found out that the links such as, Music, Pictures, or Document, within the Start Menu is not working, you may want to try these subsequent solution:
• If the Music link is dead, right click the Pictures link within the Start Menu > Properties > access Location > Put the C:\ User \ Owner\ Pictures > Apply > then OK.
• If C is the Drive and Owner is the Username; insert C:\ Users\ Owner\ Music.
• As well as document links, C:\ Users\ Owner\ Documents.
6. To utilize the BreadCrumb Bars to be able to create shortcuts of “hidden folders”:
• If you try to right click a folder name within the Address bas of Windows Vista’s BroadCrumb Bars, a context bar will be displayed.
• This context may duplicate uninhabited parts of Address Bar when clicked, may generate strings of a particular path, or copy addresses.
