Default transfer home movies

anyone have comments about software that is used to transfer vhs tapes to dvd. i use pinnacle studio 10 with Vista OS and seems to be plauged with problems. the site to find out solutions to problems is massive, it takes a good 10 minutes just to find the section with the problem you are having, and it freezes alot. does anyone have any exprience with other software? i know windows has movie maker but i wasn't thrilled with it. any suggestions will be appreciated. thanks

I like pinnacle but it has issues dealing with all the start-up programs installed on a computer.

when you are converting tapes to disc using pennacle then disconnect from the internet and shut down all programs including the anti virus and anti malware programs as well as any auto updating programs such as M$ office or kodak pictures or bearshare P2P programs.

i have tried all you suggested. i even downloaded a program called END IT ALL, i run that and turn off everything, but still have freezing up problems, it is also very very slow if you edit your movies. it takes hours to transfer a 1 hour video. well i am starting to rant, i just thought if anyone had a program they use and like i would try it. thanks for your help

I think that you have bought into the hype of getting it done right now! LOL

When converting videos to DVDs that is just not the case. When editing movies or DVDs either. It takes time to do all that and then some.

Now if you are willing to spend some bucks on getting some commercial programs and equipment...say so but you had better be willing to spend the DOLLARS

As to the freezing problems...it could be about any out dated driver or even what specs of your computer that you are trying to do this with, low memeory or CPU or out dated video card!
