Problem with the laptop battery
 

I have a dell laptop it was slipped on to the floor from the day it slipped its battery stopped working... means laptop is able to run only when it is connected to power when power gone laptop will be shuts down

battery ....................... the life line??
 

:icon_smile:although it is seen thAT genrally people trnsferring themslves from destop to a laptop due to several reasons in which battery life is also one of the reason...................al though desktop re the bstt option other than the laptops ............


but the most efficient part of the laptops aare its battery ?? now a days no of typs of laptops battery area available ....................
in which 6 cell battery wwit lithium is the best ..................stand by 8hrs working 4hrs...................based on the laptops it depends ???:happy:

The laptop fell down on the floor and now the laptop working only when it is connected to power... If unplugged then it shuts off only 2 years are over.... till now...

It's hard to say if it is the battery or something within the laptop that is broken.

Does your laptop recognize that the battery is connected?
You should be able to check the battery's charge percentage from an icon in the system tray (bottom right) or from the control panel's power options.

If the computer recognizes the battery, the problem is more likely to be with the battery, but not guaranteed. If the computer does not recognize the battery, then we really haven't gained any information.

Some Dell laptop batteries have LEDs on them to show they are connected, yours wouldn't happen to be one of them would it?

If you can find someone with a similar laptop, the best way to test it would be to swap the batteries and see if your battery works in their laptop and theirs in yours. This should let you know what is not working.
