Monitor screen problem...

Hi everyone!
I have 50 cm samsung LCD and nvidia 9500GT installed on my pc.Screen resolution is set to 1600*900, its also the max resolution that monitor supports. My problem is that whenever i connect my monitor to Graphic card's vga port, Gray white parallel lines are seen on the whole screen and monitor screen seems like its vibrating. When I connect my monitor to my motherboard's vga port, then everything is fine. There is no problem at all. This only happens when I connect monitor to graphic card. Before buying LCD i had a CRT which was fine. This problem was not with the CRT.Can anyone help me with this issue? If yes then pls help me.
Thanks in advance!

adjust monitor refresh rates

hello, connect to the videocard's VGA port and try adjusting the refresh rates

http://i56.tinypic.com/mikxzk.jpg

Using Windows 7:
Right-click on the desktop, click Screen Resolution
Click Advanced Settings
Click Monitor

http://i54.tinypic.com/9h8cgh.jpg

Put a check mark on Hide modes that this monitor cannot display
Select the lowest support refresh rate. Click Appy. Restart your computer. See if the problem will persist after restarting the computer. If everything works fine, adjust the refresh rate again this time to the highest supported value. I hope this helps :icon_wink:

Also, make sure that you are using the latest drivers for your videocard.

NVIDIA driver download page is here
http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

===========

You can also try the automated detection feature

http://www.nvidia.com/Download/Scan.aspx?lang=en-us

a JAVA plugin will be installed on your browser. It will detect the model of NVIDIA Graphic card that you have, and it will suggest the correct driver to install.

hello,

these are the things that i can suggest as of now:

1. If your samsung monitor comes with an installer cd, try installing it for windows 7. Though we rarely need to bother with the monitor installer, there might be some color or monitor specific settings there that windows 7 should know.

2. Update to the latest nvidia 9500 GT drivers
http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us&ptid=1&psid=51&pid=0

3. Make sure that your power supply is at least 350W -- this is per the specified system requirements of the 9500 GT

4. The specifications page of the 9500 GT says that it has "Maximum GPU Temperature as 105 C ". Your idle temperature should definitely be less than half of 105C.

If the temperature viewer does not come with the driver, i think this link will include it http://www.nvidia.com/object/ntune_5.05.54.00.html

And yes you are using both the video card and monitor to the supported settings

Nvide 9500 GT:
Maximum Digital Resolution 2560x1600
Maximum VGA Resolution 2048x1536

Samsung B2030
1600 x 900 Display Resolution

You might want to try and see if the lines appear while playing different games/ playing full screen movies/ or just in windows programs

Goodluck :)
