Liquid Crystal Display Monitors

I'm seriously considering getting one of these monitors. One thing that's really good about them is that they do not damage your eyes (or so my friend says). I spend a lot of time in front of this thing, and it's common knowledge that it hurts your eyes over time, but if LCD screens don't hurt your eyes, I should really consider getting it. Plus, I think it looks a lot better, and the name was always very enticing to me. My friend has an LCD screen for his Xbox, and it looks pretty nice, so I think I would like it as much for my computer.

I use an LCD and would highly suggest you get one if you use your computer alot. They are very clear and in my opinion, they dont hurt your eyes as much when you are on the computer alot. They are becoming cheaper and cheaper too. They are only about $200 for a decent 17" one.

$200! That was not what I wanted to hear. I'm willing to use a monitor that is a lot smaller than 17", how much does a 14" go for? I know it's not that much of a difference, but that has got to shave a nice chunk of the price. I don't have much to spend, but then again, you can't put a price on eyesight.

If the CRT is hurting your eyes and you can absolutely not afford an LCD, you can always increase your monitor's refresh rate.

Even then, it still can mess your eyes up. One of my friends has to use glasses.

dont worry about getting glasses cman, im pretty sure its a myth.

it all depends if its in your genes to get glasses. i see lots of people on comps 10 hours a day with near perfect vision, and then there are those who barely use it, and it messes up their eyes.

personally, monitors have never screwed up my eyes.
