Issue with Windows Vista 64-bit

Hi,

I am currently running Windows Vista 64-bit on my DELL Laptop. It has had its share of compatability problems with softwares. I firmly believe that these problems would not have occured on a 32-bit Vista. For example, I am unable to run my Kaplan GMAT cd on it, whereas all of my friends and colleagues were able to run this particular cd on their machines, which were identical to mine.

Now I am thinking of installing Windows XP SP2 in another drive.

a) Is it possible to install a Windows XP SP2 32-bit OS ?
b) Will this solve my problems on the current 64-bit Vista?

Any sort of help will be appreciated

A.)yes you can install windows xp on other partitions or other hard drive thats is dual booting, everytime you start up you have to choose which operating system you use vista or xp. other option is install virtual machine on your windows vista operating system then you install windows xp on it. just google it about virtual machine it is free download at microsoft. it means installing other operating system under your current operating system.
B.) maybe yes because your friends does it.
