How to Map Sky Drive Folders as Network Drives

If you wish to use Microsoft’s Sky Drive for the purpose of storing or sharing files then you may create mapped network drives which are easily more accessible than your applications as well as the operating system itself.

Here is a short procedure that will teach you to learn how to map sky drive folders as network drives:

a. First go to Sky Drive and login into your account.

b. Then in the address bar, after the http:, look at the address which is between the cid- and the .skydrive.live.com, you will found a group set of numbers and letters which is your ID number. You should copy the ID number first, because you will need this no later.

c. Next go to the Windows Orb or Start button.

d. After that Right-click of Computer.

e. Then select the Map Network Drive from the menu.

f. Next use the Drive dropdown in order to select the desired Drive letter.

g. Then in the Folder textbox you have to give the input as: \\docs.live.net@SSL\your_skydrive_id_number\^2Docu ments
Where your_skydrive_id_number is the ID number which you copied earlier

h. Back in the step 2 in order to map the drive to your My Documents folder on Sky Drive.
