How to Lock Your Computer When You Are Away

For those wish to automatically lock their systems when they are away, you can do that by changing your screensaver settings. Automatically locking your systems will ensure that your work is protected and all files and folders will be safe from your children or co-workers. We have listed a step-by-step guide that you can follow easily.

To begin, right-click anywhere on your desktop and click on Personalize to launch the personalization settings on your system.

Locate the Screen Saver option, which can be found under themes. You can now change your screen saver settings.

Moreover, you can also launch the screen saver settings without using your mouse, by hitting on the Win key and type in Screen Saver in the search box, and then choose Change screen saver.

This will launch the Screen Saver settings dialog box. Choose the screen saver you prefer, and then check the box to bring up the login screen when you exit the screen saver. Enter the amount of time you want to wait before your screen saver starts, then click Ok to save your settings.

Once this has been completed, you’ll see your screen saver as normal after the number of minutes that you have selected.

Then, the moment you press any key or move your mouse, you’ll be brought to the login screen instead of seeing your desktop. Type in your password and login as normal to access your computer.
