How to install windows 98 Laptop have no Mouse and Keyboard input
 

Try to install windows 98 on my old Laptop computer. The installation started smooth and nice but stopped or freeze when Windows start to install the drivers.. Use diagnosed CD for Windows 98 said “there is No mouse in the system”. This laptop has XP, Mouse and Keyboard, was working OK before I format the hard drive

When using windows 98.....only the basic drivers will be installed. The keyboard and touch pad are not basic drivers and will need to install seperately. The problem is that you need some type of input device in order to do anything. There maybe a PS2 mouse connector on the back of the laptop that should have the driver installed....it needs to be connected first,,before booting....if not then you will have to set up a slipstreamed installation CD that has the keyboard and mouse touch pad driver files .
