How to Change Computer Name In Windows 7

All the latest computers and desktops are having Windows 7 pre-loaded in it. But they give weird names to the computers. And something like HGDF14776 is always supposed to pinch you somewhere.

Similarly with Windows XP operating system, but changing the computers’ name powered by Windows XP OS is a cake walk.

Below are the steps that will help you to change the computer name powered by Windows 7:

Step 1: Right click on the COMPUTER option in Start Menu and click on PROPERTIES option.

Step 2: Now click on the button labeled as ADVANCED SYSTEM SETTINGS.

Or in place of Step 1 and 2, you can directly type “sysdm.cpl” in the Start Menu search box.

After these steps, you will be able to see a Window titled as System Properties.

Step 3: Click on the button labeled as “Change”

Step 4: Here you can change the computer name and restart your computer.

That is all.
