How to access Windows 7 Local Settings Folder?

Many of us have migrated from Windows XP to Windows7 and here is the short tip who has just did the migration. If you are trying to access the Local Settings folder at the destination.

C:\Users\<User Name>\Local Settings

I wanted to tell you that you are looking at the wrong place. If you try to do so then it will pop up with the error message, “Location is not available” or “Access Is Denied”.

In Windows 7 the Local Settings is a connection point of various other setting. In other words Windows7 is a hidden and protected OS. So the system files are not meant to be accessed by the users. Instead it points to an another folder which is user-accessible folder and is present at the following destination:

C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Local

Whenever you try to search some files saved in your Local Folder then just make sure you are looking at the right destination.

NOTE: The much quicker way to access the Local Folders is to type %localappdata% in Windows Explorer and hit Enter.
