Having Problems finding harddrive

I built my first computer and having two problems I hope someone can help me with. I have a primary and slave set up. System was working until I loaded Sevice Pack 2

1. Computer does not detect my harddrives and after the detection
screen i get a message that says "detecting array". I pressed F9 to
access Setup and the see that the HDs are not showing up.

2. As soon as the Windows screen starts I lose all power to the
keyboard and mouse

System Components
MOBO - K8N Pro SLI
AMD 64 X2 4800
XP Pro

Welcome to SysChat... We are so glad to have you. Try rolling the install back to SP1 then reinstall. Sometimes it takes twice for something like that.

also before installing SP2 again, make sure that all of your drivers are up to date, eg: mouse, keyboard, mobo, video card, etc. This will help the transition to SP2 be more smooth as these drivers will have control instead of the standard XP drivers.

How do I rollback to SP1 from the setup menu?

William_Wilson 10-28-2006 05:09 PM

go to your control panel, and select add/remove programs.
remove sp2, this will undo all changes of SP2, there is actually a way to do a an actual 'roll-back', but i jsut worked many hours and don't have the strength to type it all out....
