hard drive crash
 

Help my hard drive on a sony vaio laptop has crashed and all info is gone it will not detect my o/s. I have tried vaio revccovery disks to no avail. I have a new hard drive to install but can someone tell me how I can get my o/s.

The OS will install from the recovery disk.
Make sure CD is the first boot device in the BIOS setup, then boot to the recovery disk and follow the instructions.

If you mean you want to get files off the old disk that's another issue.
