Get blank screen
 

I have a HP omnibook 6100. This is a used laptop that had the hard drive wiped, but Windows XP was reloaded. The problemI am having is that after rebooting the computer the HP logo comes on and then you can enter the setup or just let it keep booting. If you keep booting the screen goes to black and ablinking curse appears in the middle of the screen. If you try to boot from the cd drive the computer does not reconginze it. What should I do?

It may be a driver problem. You should contact HP and ask them if this notebook came with some kind of a "restore" CD. If it did, they will ship it to you for like 10 bucks. This can also be a hard drive problem, though.
