Don't know the problem

Well,handling Computers is a hard thing:help:
One of my computers in lab asks:Enter system password to unlock.
Some minute ago, it was working fine. But all of sudden...
It is not the password for the BIOS mode,.....
When i restart the computer, a black screen displays and asks for password.
I have not worked with any settings of the computer. But still.......
I got this problem some days back too in another computer in the lab.But nothing done by me, it automatically started working again.
Hope this one too fix itself automatically, not burdening me:icon_surprised:

But still i want to know what may be the cause ? And what is happening ?

1. Turn off the computer
2. Open the CPU
3. Find the CMOS Battery on the Motherboard
4. Remove the Battery for 30 or more seconds, allowing the Capacitors to discharge
5. Put the CMOS Battery back and power the Computer Back up and the system shouldn't ask for a password any more!

Using Windows XP

I am using Windows XP. And the computers are registered to server 2003 domain. The second computer also fixed itself now. And look up, i m experiencing it in third computer. I don't do anything, just leave the computer on and the next day, it fixes it self..wow.. what a problem

Using Windows XP

Well, I tried the blank password as well. But the system asks for password. No blank password is accepted.
It's OK if this problem persisted in only one computer at a time. But what if many of them start this problem at once ?:sconfused: I'll be ruined. Help out.

Its possible that the server has done an update which triggered the ask password problem..or someone is playing a game with you as this type of problem doesn't fix itself.

try this from M$ also

How to log on to your Windows XP-based computer if you forget your password or if your password expires

Confused...Suggest soon

The domain server has no policies updated. And i have not even altered anything. If the domain policy was the case, the problem should show up in every computer the domain, ie 21 computers in my lab. They all were registered the same time and are in the same organizational unit. I am stuck.
The third computer that showed up this problem didn't fix itself. The problem still persists. It is three days the problem showed up.

I did the battery removing way too. I removed the CMOS battery for almost 5 minutes and replaced it to the motherboard. But no improvement in the performance. How can I help myself ? I mentioned earlier also it doesn't seem to be the password for the BIOS mode. Nothing displayed, just a message when i boot the CPU : Enter password to unlock the system.

What does the system locked up means?

I am thinking of formatting the CPU. Well, can it be a help?

You cannot format a cpu or central processing unit. You format hard drives, you should know this if your in the IT department of whatever company you "work" for.

I think something smells like fish, when you ask similar questions as loraandbush who infers he / she is also in IT.

Someone is trolling here...

Nothin so fishy..

Well that was a slip of tongue or whatever u people say. I meant to say formatting the hard drive not the whole of CPU. I don't have a good english, i realize that. People shouldn't knock at others weak spots i guess. If can't help, it is better not to demoralize a soul.

I have an issue with this as well. People in IT departments know certain things that seem to be above your knowledge. I think that you should start requesting this information from your supervisor(s) as I am sure that they would know the answer to your problem!
