Cd-rw & Dvd-rw

HI,

I have a question about CD & DVD readers/writers. I know you can buy CD/DVD writers but how expensive are they and who are the companies that make them? Who are the good ones and who are the ones to avoid?
Thank you for your response. I have a MAD DOG but it won't write DVD-RW's.

JOJO:confused:

if your drive is old enough it may only burn to DVD+R types, not DVD-R. The best companies i've encountered are Sony and HP, but there are many other quality compaies these days.
My roomate recently picked up a DVD+/-RW drive for under 300 canadian which will also burn the 8GB discs and RAM discs. They are becoming much more common and affordable. Almost makes me wish i hadn't gotten mine sooo long ago.

I agree with Will about Sony being a good drive to have. Also I have found that BenQ or AOpen to be fast and trouble free.

It depends alot on where you are from as to how much drives tend to be.

I can pick up a BenQ or Sony DVD+/-RW DL for about £30 sterling (DL means that they write on Dual Layer (8GB) disks) They will also write DVD RAM aswell.
