mic is not working

ok i got this mic from staples to play counter strick but when i use it the other person hers static and a weird peeping sounds, when i recoded my voice the peeping sounds go with my voice but it sounds like a techno song, the drivers are updated. whats wrong, im using the onboard mic inpute, MB:asus p5n-e sli
