I get all goose-pimply when you guys talk DOS....ooooooooooooh

Save a copy of the reg first before doing anything.

For those of us who only "speak a bit of DOS," I seem to recall that one can take that downloaded DOS7, open it up, and copy the whole kit and kaboodle into the system32 file. Do not overwrite any files though. You will be more successful on a FAT32 system. NTFS does not like to use DOS stuff that has not been pre-authorized.

Access the commands from the c:\ in Safe Mode...just like you do a fsc /scannow command ... some will work, the majority won't, you'll have to experiment ...enjoy.

Don't forget to save a copy of the reg first before doing anything. Then shut down and re-open in Safe-Mode Command Prompt...

Worth a try anyway. It shouldn't hurt anything by just sitting there.
