This isn't a problem with Audacity but with your CD-burning operation. What program are you using to make your CD? When you put it in your computer, do you see the .wav file, or a .cda file? You may have accidentally created a data CD instead of an audio CD. Or you may not have closed the disc with your program. Windows or OS X?

iTunes would be the easiest and free way to make an audio CD.
