Default Desperate now! - Keyboard wont work on laptop

Hello, my name is Carol, I am having a problem with my laptop keyboard - it isnt working! I have tried FN F11, and shift f11- still cant use keyboard - it hasnt been used in 6 months so needs to be updated with spyware doctor, I cant log on to the internet, as it is telling me to key in a network password - well i cant do it as the silly keyboard aint working. can someone please help me solve it. i use windows xp - ta caz
