Default Bios, "Advanced".> "Configure SATA"

Jan 4, 2010 4:54 PM

Hi All

I have a Gateway GT 5040 Computer with an
> 106007 - Intel (Cortez G2) 945G Viiv Motherboard

In the Bios (press F2) during Boot,

> second page "Advanced"

the subheading
> Drive Configuration the Fourth selection is:

> Configure SATA as, the options are:
[ IDE]
[RAID]
[AHCI]

The existing one was [RAID]

Which one should I Use? and Why?

Thanks

P.S. I noticed that formatting did all the drives
at once and lost my other drives data.

P.P.S. Will this motherboard and Windows XP
natively support drives over 137 gigabytes?

Thanks Again!
