Not sure I can help but which one of those are you using for xp ?
These are just my basic questions
Are you installing it on the c drive ?
Is the partition active ?
This is just of the top of my head since I am not too familiar with xp but it sounds to me like maybe there are too many linux partitions and xp is trying to figure it out or it doesn't recognize the motherboard
I am not sure if this is important but who is in charge of the boot manager xp or linux ?
