You can buy a cellular phone connection for your computer :

King of Hearts Wireless Internet Access Kit :: Cellular + Landline Modem PC Card with CellFlex

while this set up is best used with a dual phone (digital/analog) it will work on either of them as well as your regular landline phone also. Use it anywhere your cellular phone company works.

Does your regular home phone company have DSL in your area? You would need to check with them to make sure! If they do then your best way would be to get a DSL modem that gives you high speed access through your phone company lines. Then add the wireless router to the set up and you can connect that way,

I do not recommend the use of a combo router/modem supplied by your phone service as these are extremely proprietary and set so low that you can barely get wireless through a single wall. Just ask for a DSL modem and purchase the wireless router on your own.

If you have the DSL then we will be glad to help you pick out a suitable wireless router and card for your laptop.
Note>>>>> all new laptops come stock with built in wireless NIC cards to connect to a wireless signal from a router so there should be no need to buy another one.
