Windows 7: Quickly Hide All Icons from the Desktop
 

If you are someone who uses your Windows system for hours every day, you will notice that after some time, your desktop will be very chaotic and full of unnecessary icons. An icon of new applications, downloaded files, images, documents and even videos and music files will be seen on every corner of your desktop. People normally put everything on their desktops for them to easily access the programs and files every time they need it. If you want to quickly get rid of this mess and hide these icons temporarily, follow this step-by-step guide.

1. Close/minimize all open windows and programs until you are on your desktop. Once every window is closed or minimized, right click on any blank space on your Windows the desktop.
2. Go to view.
3. Uncheck the option that says “Show Desktop Icons” and you’re done.
4. Anytime you need these icons back on your desktop, all you need to do is reverse the steps for this process.
