win 2000 pro boot prob

i have a genuine version of 2000 pro and i need to reinstall a computer that dosent have a floppy, the cd for 2000 is a very early copy so it dosent boot its self, and since the computer dosent have a floppy i cant use the 4 floppy boot method,

is there any hope for my computer?, i only want to use 2000, i do not have a key for xp and do not have the money to buy one

i don't think it has to do with the installer itself, all OS are self installers even before windows 95.
Check your bios that you have the cd drive listed in the startup order and it is in the first slot.

cd drive is set, but the cd its self was burnt

like i said, i have a genuine cd but i have cracked it with updates and installed the service packs into it and now it wont boot its self, is there anyway to boot from like a usb flash drive?

most often adding files to an OS disc will change it's properties and it fails a file test, it is a protection method implemented by MS.
Booting from a USB flash drive can be possible, but your mobo must support it. If under your bios there is an option in the boot order to choose usb, then you are in business, otherwise your stuck with cds.
