What I did to solve d 'dial up connection option check box' problem
 

Some time ago, I complained that my desktop computer's 'dial up connection option's check box' was inactive. 1st I appreciate the effort from here to help me out. The only thing I did to solve the problem was to reformat the computer and everything became cute. Thanks.

Thanks for letting us know what you did to achieve the fix. However I personally think that a reformat is a tad too heay it is at times the best solution after all!

For what it is worth...I have found that a lot of these problems arise from tweaking the system to better enhance certain applications or software to the user's preference. Trouble comes from not realizing that a tweak doesn't just affect a single thing but can actually influence other options as well. Then the user doesn't remember that they used another (third party) application to do the tweaking and or what tweaking was done and there is the problem.
