What HTML editor do you use?

What editor do you use?
I often use notepad.
But sometimes I feel lazy.
So I have to use WYSIWYG editor.
Im currently using Dreamweaver.
But I seldom use WYSIWYG because they always put some codes that I dont like.

I have got both Frontpage, Dreamweaver and also Notepad. So i use all of them.:)

I usually use Dreamweaver and Frontpage. However sometimes for some lightweignt editing like CSS I always use and recommend Notetab light (the light version is more than enough... it has a lot of imprvement like CSS libraries and so on, so I think you should give it a try if you like notepad!

I wouldn't mind tring that. I've already got heaps of em, so 1 more wouldn't hurt.:)

Having more programs, means more choice I guess. May be you should make a list of programs that you have ChatMod#1? I'm sure there are many out there who think that their current text editor is not that great, atleast I'm always looking forward to know about new programs out there.

ChatMod#1 03-08-2006 01:27 AM

The main ones i currently use are Microsoft FrontPage 2000 Premium, Macromedia Dreamweaver 8, NotePad. Then i have got a few small programs which i rarely use. I should delete but i just can't be bothered.:)

I've tried MS visual studio editor, and it isn't bad, but i prefer to type the code myself in notepad, feels more authentic i guess. As a coder, i'm not interested in the flashiest site, that's what the graphics and animators are for. I'm more about technically sound code, and easy navigation. Not that i don't appreciate a site that put the time into the visual aspect, like this site for instance. but i can't imagine coding this all in notepad, lol:icon_razz:

What HTML editor do you use?

I use Dreamweaver 4 and TextPad. Dreamweaver for it's WYSIWYG feature and common UI and integration with Fireworks and Flash. I don't like some of the proprietary technology which FrontPage uses and the zillion little files it leaves on your server. I also like Dreamweaver's "split screen" view of the code and the page for quick edits. Dreamweaver doesn't change my code like FrontPage does. I even used it to modify dozens of the vBulletin templates you are using.

I've been using Adobe Dreamweaver CS3 as the HTML editor for the past 2 years. I've tried many other HTML editors but Dreamweaver is the best and it is very much easier to design webpages in it

Notepad is a great way to learn. Notepad++ is a good one. I used it for a long time.
I also used Aptana for a while. Aside from Notepad++'s features, it also gives code suggestions.
I'm using MS WebMatrix right now. It basically takes Aptana's features and adds in a built-in webserver that automatically launches when I open a project. Makes working with PHP way easier.

TinyRaindrop 05-20-2013 09:13 AM

I use dreamweaver. It is so easy. Earlier I used notepad. But it is too hard to remember all the elements and very often I forget closing tags.
