The problem is the ink was low ...

I have a Canon i550 printer with win. XP. The problem is the ink was low, I replaced the ink tanks. I still get the message the ink is out. :sconfused:

I have unplugged the power and usb cable and reconnected, no help. I have turned the printer on and off several times, no help. I have removed the ink tank holder and cleaned reinstalled still no help whats next. Any ideas?

Sounds like a software/Driver malfunction, try re-installing the software for your printer, if that doens't work, it is probably a question for Canon, as it would be an internal hardware error.

This may be an issue with the IC Chip, which function is to calculate the amount of ink you have in your tank.

Those ink indicator lights on Canon printers can get really messed up, but and this is a but, at least Canon ink replacement is cheaper than HP ink replacement.

Have a friend who has a large format Canon printer and is very happy with it.
