safe mode
 
I'm using windows xp on my gateway computer I'm stuck in safe mode I would like to go back to my factory settings but my system restore is messed up so unforunetly I cannot go back I didn't get a windows xp cd that should have come with the computer how do I or where can I download a copy of windows xp?

This is where the acronym RTFM come in handy.

Have you read the manual concerning reinstalling from the recovery partition / disks that you made.

ok I made some when bought the pc but I freaked out and threw them away cause I panicked and didn't know how use them so I'm trying to make some more please tell me how?

The last time I made some on a HP computer it was a one off thing. You cannot get a second bite of the cherry.

You will have to go to Gateway and purchase a new operating system from them...

Mr. wombat is right.

The abillity to burn a copy of the restoration discs on any new system is a one shot oportunity....Users need to comprehend that this is something that one must learn to read the manual before trying to operate it on your own.

Too many people use computers at work and don't think they need to read the manuals because there are IT people there that can fix them or because someone else has all ready set it up and they think it comes this way or that way.

Can't say it enough...Learn to Back-up and read what it is that you are selecting OK for
