i have windows xp how does one quick start windows mine takes long time

start > run > msconfig
go to the startup tab

this is a list of all applications running on startup, you can edit this list to remove things like the adobe updater and other unecessary applications from running every time you start.

If you need help determining what to remove, write them down, or take a screenshot (that includes all names) and I can help you sort through them :)

A good spyware scan, virus scan and defragment have also been known to help speed up a sluggish computer.
