problem with msiexec.exe

Dear Friends,
from time to time I have problem with running and installation of new programs because of MSIEXEC.EXE .
I do not know what is it the msiexec.exe. Is it a spyware? Is it may cause concrete serious problems etc.?

In any case I would to ask you to help me to understand what is msiexec.exe and what I would have to do in order to get rid of this file? Can the computer work normally without this file?

You may contact me at [email protected]

Thank you in advance

With best wishes
Boris

It is part of the windows installer package....this is used to install software on your system and should not be stopped or removed...

If you are having problems in installations of programs then it is probably due to a corrupted installer file from a previous installation...

Try this to resolve this problem:

In control panel > add/remove programs...look for windows installer..xxxxand remove it....then go to windows update and reinstall the program...or search for an alternate sollution of reinstalling the windows installer package.
