80gb hdd
video memory 32mb
CDRW 52X speed
3And half inch fdd
4 ports of usb

i want to have the recommended software for a standers home use.
like cd writing , playing games , viewing movies .

and also anti virus soft
achievers

please tell me the freeware softs for above all

it sounds like your video is an onboard (on the motherboard) if you purchase a video card these days a 128-256mb is not too expensive.

avast is my favorite free anti-virus. It has been ranked highly on websites and magazines in the last 6 months, to show that it is still up to date.

I am not aware of any reliable free cd burning software, but i have nearly always used nero and adatec easy cd.

if you get your windows updates, videos should not be an issue, except for codecs, which you can search for as you need them.

games usually come with drivers and directX versions required.

I have found for newbeeies avg is a very good freeware antivirus , nero is by far the easier program to understand
