How to Enable DMA Mode for DVD Writer
 

To enable DMA mode for DVD writer follow the steps below:

Go to Start->Control Panel->System->Hardware tab->Device Manager.

Open the IDE ATA/ATP Controllers list, then open the IDE channel that your burner is on, right click the proper IDE Channel and then
select "Properties"->Advance Setting tab.

From the DVD Writer, make sure "DMA if available" is selected for Transfer mode instead of "PIO mode".

Then, click OK. Windows will ask you if you want to reboot, for these settings to take effect. Click Yes to reboot.
